People, Planet, and Profit: A Bibliometric Analysis of Triple Bottom Line Theory

Scientific production on Triple Bottom Line Theory is, recently, attracting attention in the literature. A series of factors are related to this interest, among them: (i) scarcity productive resources; and, (ii) need optimize processes not only economic terms, but especially their environmental and social aspects. These have fostered study sustainability models. Therefore, present aims conduct a bibliometric investigation into Theory. To end, an analysis 1386 publications, published between 1999 2020, indexed Web Science database, was developed. Additionally, article describes detail main contributors academic debate topic. Furthermore, it highlights relevant areas research at time. It found that search for models assess environmental, performance is highly today. also that, used purpose, class Data Envelopment Analysis stands out.
